The crossroads of Colombian development

Abstract

After more than half a century, Colombia has been going through the road towards development, an unceasing search initially characterized by the predominance of economic growth, perspective that has caused many crises and generated new discourses about social, humane, sustainable and endogenous affairs. We are facing a crossroad in which the strategy of outside and inside in the economic growth is still in force, the search for the unified principle in development continues, and the deficit in the pursuit of development goals persists. And the crossroads as opposed to the Development in Colombia consist, which more, than a subject of indecision in front of multiple ways, the perception is that of a high level margin of uncertainties, given that every different effort seems inefficient, and with every discourse of development a new way is open, not meaning an arriving or agreeable point, but never getting to a common arriving point, about the pounding economical, cultural, political and social realities of our country. The purpose of this article, more than emphasizing on the effects of Development or perhaps giving account of any specific model, will be to present some constant in this evolving Colombian development and from this point, to generate some inquiries about why we persist in pursuing development and how as for the Social Work it becomes necessary to rethink the places of the profession in these processes. Here you have the Crossroads of Development in Colombia, whit a hopeful idea of which from inside, meaning; from the development process taking place in our country, we could find other referrers that allow us to be presented in a different way to that geopolitical condition of underdeveloped.
