Author Guidelines

Below, you can download the forms suggested by the journal to formalise the submission of any manuscript. Please read it, complete it in its entirety and upload it to the platform as an attachment to the original manuscript; please remember that in cases where a signature is required, the document must be read and signed by all authors:

  1. Author and article identification form
  2. Letter of assignment of rights and commitment to publication

If your research poses any risk to humans or non-human living beings, if it was approved by the ethics committee of your institution or if informed consents were processed, please indicate this in the Letter of Commitment and send all these supports as attachments, also through the platform.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • 1. Focus and scope. Authors should read and understand the focus and scope of the journal, especially with regard to its publication themes: https://revistaprospectiva.univalle.edu.co/index.php/prospectiva/enfoqueyalcance
  • 2. Manuscript types. Authors should verify that their manuscript corresponds to one of the textual typologies received by the journal and adjust their text accordingly in its structure, contents and metadata: https://revistaprospectiva.univalle.edu.co/index.php/prospectiva/tipologia
  • 3. Ethics. Authors must take into account the ethical aspects by which the journal is guided and submit their manuscripts in acceptance of such principles, recommendations and procedures: https://revistaprospectiva.univalle.edu.co/index.php/prospectiva/politicaetica
  • 4. AI Use Policy. Authors should be aware of the AI usage policy before submitting manuscripts. In addition, they should follow the recommendations and procedures: https://revistaprospectiva.univalle.edu.co/index.php/prospectiva/politicadeIA
  • 5. Review process. Authors should read and understand the journal's manuscript evaluation cycle so that they can deal with all communications in a timely manner: https://revistaprospectiva.univalle.edu.co/index.php/prospectiva/revisionpares
  • 6. Guidelines for authors. Authors must read, understand and comply with the journal's instructions for authors in order to avoid misunderstandings, reprocessing or the return or rejection of their manuscript for not following the instructions: https://revistaprospectiva.univalle.edu.co/index.php/prospectiva/information/authors

  • 7. Commitment Letter and Assignment of Intellectual Property Rights. Authors must submit a commitment letter at the time of manuscript submission, confirming that they are the authors of the manuscript, that they agree with all of its contents, and that they assume responsibility for them. They must also commit not to submit the manuscript to other publications simultaneously.

    Likewise, through this document, the authors assign the rights to the journal. If the manuscript is not approved for publication, the assignment of rights will not take effect, as the manuscript will be released from the editorial process.

  • 8. Author Identification Form: Authors must submit the identification form, which also includes information regarding manuscript funding, each author’s contribution, conflict of interest disclosure, ethical considerations, and a declaration regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence tools.
  • 9. Other documents. If the research from which the manuscript is derived was endorsed by an ethics committee or if there are informed consents or other types of documents that support that the manuscript is derived from a process in which principles faithful to ethics, bioethics and scientific integrity have been followed, they must be attached and presented as annexes, within the Letter of Commitment.
