This article arises from the reflections that, as a professor of professional training practicum in the Social Work Program at Universidad de La Salle, I have made while advising students who approach the field of professional intervention for the first time and therefore have a lot of questions and the feeling that few responses are available to them. The fundamental question has to do with the role of professors who accompany these processes and with what is learnt and taught in a process of professional practicum. From this point of view, this article approaches some conceptions of practicum, some reflections made by students in their practicum, and some propositions, in the form of conclusions, about the role of professors who accompany the practicum process.
