Noise pollution is a natural part of day to day life, and therefore it is dif
ficult to identify and control. Because of this, it is not usually recognized as an urban problem, and therefore not intervened upon. This denial of the problem has lead to an omission on behalf of public institutions, forcing citizens to deal with the issue in their own way. Oftentimes, this generates tension and conflicts among neighbors. This article sheds light upon the problem at hand, focusing on gated communities in the city of Cali.
