The systematization of experiences is a process that allows analyzing the academic practicum, and becomes an important experience for students in formation as social workers; it is therefore regarded as a process that allows constructing knowledge and methodologies that bring new experiences related to the activities of practitioners.

This article invites the reader to approach the implications of an academic practicum in social intervention programs aimed at the rights of children, adolescents and their families facing life in the streets, in the so called marginal city contexts , or “hillside area” (zona de ladera).

We expect therefore that these lines would provide an opportunity for reflection among students in formation and social sciences professionals alike, about how to approach the relationships and social dynamics daily faced by children and adolescents in our country, considering that the state’s restitution programs should include broader visions of the meaning of being a man and a woman, as this would favor equity and social development.
