This text focuses on the emotional process, humor and laughter in the classroom. It aims to emphasize the importance of laughter and humor in the educational space, but, from the perspective of the emotional process, that is, perceptions, sensations, thoughts, emotions, feelings, needs and actions. The benefits and harm of humor are also reviewed. It is said that humor is an attitude towards life; it is related with a series of sensations and pleasant emotions. This article presents the findings of a case study where 98 undergraduate students (of a teaching degree at UAM/X in Mexico City during 2017) answered a questionnaire with quantitative and qualitative questions. The results indicate the importance of humor and its benefits in the teaching and learning process, as well as, its intimate relationship with the emotional process composed of pleasant sensations and satisfactory emotions in general.
