Sociodemographic Factors and Participation Levels in the Río Valles River Basin Management, Eastern México

This article reviews social, and demographic factors and participation levels, at the VallesRiver basin, eastern México, management by means of historical and bibliographical review of different sources of information, the application of semi-structured interviews and surveys with a sampling error of the 10%, and statistical analysis in the package
SPSS v. 17.0, with confidence level of the 95%.
The article shows that the factors that directly influence of participation levels for the solution of the problems of the Valles River basin include the field of occupation, which highlights the category "people without occupation" with a level "Null-low" the perception of the "actors invited" to solve the problems, which regards the solution must be by the government, an opinion that reflects a paternalistic state, the ignorance of the" existence of the Watershed Committee will River Valley "and low "ownership of information". Concluded that there is a level of participation "Null-Low", whereas those involved in this category, only attend scheduled meetings or activities, but are not included in the decisions made for the territory.
