This article presents the two main findings of the first phase of the research project entitled “Family studies and their articulation with the intervention with families in Colombia (2000-2011)”, conducted between 2013 and 2014. The first finding is the characterization of 34 family-focused research groups recognized by Colciencias, in 25 Colombian universities; the second result refers to the methodology developed during the research process. The critical analysis of the results and the qualitative information on the research, corresponding to the second phase of it, will be the subject of another publication.
