In this article is intended to outline how organizations like afrocolombian social construct ethnic identity in urban Cali, which involve a set of references that become the plurality of the social and beyond the essentials so questioned and criticized in the social sciences Colombia. As will be seen in the development of the text, the processes of construction of ethnic identities afro-urban involving cultural references and social issues from local, regional, national and international levels.
