THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING IN SOCIAL WORK. Relevance of the debate on the social paradigms: The case of the Universidad del Valle.

This article reports an investigation of trends in undergraduate training in social work from the Universidad del Valle; this from the document review program of 14 courses of the component of professional and methodological grounds, and workshops discussion with students and teachers. The analysis was undertaken from an approach to socio-critical paradigm, which involved evidence contradictions and gaps regarding the tenets of it, and uncovers how they are presented and take the courses, the elements of functional-structuralism and constructivism / social constructionism. Such research is a contribution to the self-assessment process that has been done in the Academic Program of Social Work towards a required curriculum reform; this article on both synthesis of this is an invitation to convene the approach of students, teachers and graduates in this work.
